Ruben van Weelden is a versatile and multifaceted artist and DOP who worked both sides of the camera. As an eight year old kid, he refused to go to his grandparents funeral. His parents bargained him into going: he would film the event. This moment, in retrospect, is where he and the camera merged. 

Shortly thereafter he started acting as a kid, and the love he felt for the camera proved itself mutual. At the Dutch Film Academy he developed his eye for poetic imagery. Over the years Ruben's passion for filmmaking blossomed into a love for cameras, lighting, lenses and the people surrounding them.

With a blend of technical expertise and keen people skills, Ruben brings a collaborative and devoted energy to his role as a DOP. His early acting experience gives him an understanding of what it feels like to be in front of the camera. This to him is what everything revolves around: creating a good atmosphere in which everyone involved can flourish
