Charlotte De Cort

Charlotte De Cort is a Brussels-based writer and film director. She is drawn to capturing close skins, fragile looks, and tactile body movements to engage the viewer’s senses.

Her pursuit of empathy, sensuality, and enrichment drives her artistic endeavors, aiming to translate these experiences to her audience. Currently, she is completing a short dreamy documentary, co-directed with Camille Ghekiere, shot in Sri Lanka.

As a screenwriter, Charlotte has co-written a coming-of-age series and is creating her own fiction series, aligned with her distinctive filmic approach. As an artistic researcher at the RITCS Royal School Of Arts, she delves into her film practice by studying the female gaze and the politics of the dancing body on screen, developing a tactile visual language of subjectivity through both theory and practice.

Charlotte also writes columns for the Brussels magazine BRUZZ, sharing her inspiring encounters and experiences in her beloved city.
